Day 20: What’s Next
Almost there! With this reset, it is the perfect moment to consider your future relationship with cannabis. Stoned you just wants to be stoned. Part of clear you may want that too! But part may want change. Perhaps you just want balance.
Balancing your weed use has something to do with ‘amount’ and ‘frequency’. Balance is achieved when we are able to know- and act on- what is enough. That might mean stopping once you are high enough. It might mean skipping days. It almost always means using less than you could. And that’s where balance is found: when you can be comfortable not partaking, you are better able to enjoy partaking.
Balancing your weed use can also involve some of the things you’ve thought about during previous sections of this guide. Did you find the purpose of your weed use? Maybe it’s easier to think through stressful situations when high. Maybe it’s more fun to play video games. Maybe it helps you work through trauma. Or maybe you’ve found that you simply use it as a part of a routine. No matter what purpose you’ve found, you likely have been using to serve that purpose. In order to find what balance looks like for you, it may be helpful to be more “purposeful” about your weed use.
What has weed taught you about yourself and the world?
What next? What was your original purpose? If it was to reduce your tolerance... you've done it. If it was to see if you could do it... you've done it. If it was to see how you felt without THC... Well, how do you feel?
(If it was to get clean for a pee-test…you are likely good, but if you were a heavy daily partaker- you might need five weeks to be 100% completely clear)
Maybe you have discovered the positives of staying clear-headed and want to continue your break into the future, or refrain entirely. Even if you do see some cannabis in your future, it is probably a good idea to make t-breaks part of your routine: a weekend every month, or a month every year. Being thoughtful about your intentions is always more likely to have a positive impact.
