Support your best self with this 3-week program
University of Iowa students are passionate about supporting mental health and looking out for their community. However, one piece of the conversation around mental health that is often left out is the impact of alcohol. This program was developed by students to make it easier to reduce the impacts and influences of alcohol in their life in community with their friends.
Thrive in 3 provides an opportunity to participate with your community to:
- support positive mental health
- boost focus and productivity
- maybe even save some money
- and win prizes
What is Thrive in 3?
For 3 weeks, you aim to:
- Try your best to limit your alcohol consumption to 1 drink per hour or refrain from drinking entirely
- Reflect on the experience by responding to a series of brief questions you’ll be texted throughout the program.
- Win prizes and learn some information along the way to support your friends and your own well- being.
FAQ
What if I don’t meet the aim of limiting consumption to 1 drink per hour or less consistently?
- Did you try your best? That’s all that is asked. Part of the program is reflecting on what factors made it challenging to meet the aim.
How much time does this program take?
- Barely any. Each text takes about a minute to complete, and you will receive 3 texts per week throughout the 3 weeks of the program. Roughly 15 minutes total, over the course of 3 weeks.
What content does the program address?
- The program can be shaped to what is important to you and your community.
